FC Pepsi's Paul Holmstedt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carl Kalfhage in the 10th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carl Kalfhage in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paul Holmstedt saved FC Pepsi from getting behind. Joshua Sammut Castelletti's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kent Näver read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, INIXET BK's goalkeeper Kent Näver had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kanu Kanu. INIXET BK's Kent Näver proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save INIXET BK from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as FC Pepsi's Joshua Sammut Castelletti slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Kent Näver. That made the score 1-0 after 19 minutes of play. 21 minutes into the match, FC Pepsi's goal looked a bit too open when Peder Alström came free, but Paul Holmstedt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Peder Alström managed to get in a good position for a shot. INIXET BK's supporters rose to their feet, but Peder Alström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paul Holmstedt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
