Daniel Alrot made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 7th minute Leo Ström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Alrot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Veselin Sveshtarov hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. In the 14th match minute, Åhus Absolut F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ege Yazargil to maneuver through the defense. Jim Lindholm came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Mellbystrand IK's Candido Urbes. But to his dismay, Candido Urbes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Candido Urbes scored 1-2 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jim Lindholm, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 32 minutes into the match, Kurt Brogren had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jim Lindholm. Åhus Absolut F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kurt Brogren was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. After 35 played minutes Mellbystrand IK got a freekick which was hit by Joakim Mattsson. After taking down the ball on Åhus Absolut F.C's corner Lars Julin fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Daniel Alrot quite easily take care of the ball. Leo Ström kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Kurt Brogren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jim Lindholm was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kurt Brogren in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jim Lindholm saved Åhus Absolut F.C from getting behind.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vilhelm Berg was the one to do the kick off. After 56 played minutes Åhus Absolut F.C got a freekick which was hit by Vilhelm Berg. Jim Lindholm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kurt Brogren, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Joakim Mattsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Jim Lindholm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mellbystrand IK's Björn Ekström was substituted for Candido Urbes. Kurt Brogren had several of the Åhus Absolut F.C's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 67 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-4 score and a disappointed Jim Lindholm as he didn't even see the shot coming. Joakim Mattsson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jim Lindholm having to make a save. Kurt Brogren might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jim Lindholm. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kurt Brogren ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 75thth minute of the game Kurt Brogren who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Åhus Absolut F.C's Jim Lindholm was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 75 minutes, the score became 2-5 when Kurt Brogren sped through Åhus Absolut F.C's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jim Lindholm. In the 80th match minute, Åhus Absolut F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Coşkun Sehim to maneuver through the defense. Emmanuel Petit lost his temper 90 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card.
