Flamengo's Qiao Nan Wen got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sal Mone charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sal Mone the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Flamengo getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Sal Mone hit a great ball. August Hjortberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guaberto Perico, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Guaberto Perico had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of August Hjortberg. Flamengo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Guaberto Perico was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paul Prince in the 20th minute of play forced Flamengo's goalkeeper August Hjortberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peter Östensson's late challenge caught a Outsiders FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Peter Östensson helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Flamengo getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Peter Östensson hit a great ball. In the 94th minute, Paul Prince ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. August Hjortberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3.
