Alf Hansson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 12th minute Steven Verhaeghen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bengt Apelquist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bengt Apelquist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alf Hansson in the 13th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Steven Verhaeghen in the 18th minute of play forced Huvudstaden's goalkeeper Bengt Apelquist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kent Jonasson in the 22nd minute of play forced Sundborn IF's goalkeeper Kalle Askberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sundborn IF's Kalle Askberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrik Heggert in the 24th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Ted Holmgren made a precise shot to the right of Bengt Apelquist. Huvudstaden's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Bengt Apelquist stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alf Hansson's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Jan Håning could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Bengt Apelquist made a huge save. Jan Håning kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. In the 35th minute of the match Eralp Sipahi shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kalle Askberg showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ted Holmgren succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 4-0 in the 37th playminute. Huvudstaden's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Alf Hansson 43 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 5-0. Steven Verhaeghen hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Peder Sarstedt to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes of play, Sundborn IF's Sven-Olof Stephansson made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bengt Apelquist was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the Huvudstaden defense, Alf Hansson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bengt Apelquist. The Huvudstaden fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bengt Apelquist should have stopped the shot. In the 59th minute, Alf Hansson made a precise shot to the right of Bengt Apelquist. Huvudstaden's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 9-0. In the 63rd minute, Jan Håning ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bengt Apelquist was frozen by the shot and now it was 10-0. In the 66th minute, Alf Hansson made a precise shot to the right of Bengt Apelquist. Huvudstaden's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 11-0. After 76 minutes of play, Sundborn IF's Alf Hansson made it 13-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bengt Apelquist was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sundborn IF made a substitution. Jarl Axelsson replaced Jan Håning. Kent Jonasson hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Bengt Apelquist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ted Holmgren, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Huvudstaden were furious when Torgny Hydén was red carded, 83 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Torgny Hydén hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. 86 minutes into the game, Ted Holmgren cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 14-0. Bengt Apelquist was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bengt Apelquist didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alf Hansson went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 15-0 was the resulting score. 95 minutes into the game, Sundborn IF's Jarl Axelsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bengt Apelquist made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 16-0. When the referee ended the match the Sundborn IF players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
