The Ipswich Traktor Boys fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. 41 minutes into the match, Pawel Gibowski had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Staffan Eckegren. G A I S's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pawel Gibowski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. After the first half Ipswich Traktor Boys were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Abdulkerim Türköne to strike the kick off in the second half. David Silva hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Ipswich Traktor Boys's Marcos Basso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Jernberg in the 52nd minute of play. G A I S's Staffan Eckegren proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save G A I S from getting a goal against them. Staffan Eckegren made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when David Silva sent off a good shot on target. 57 minutes had been played when some careless play by G A I S's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Herbert Holmgren was slow to take the kick. During this time Ipswich Traktor Boys's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Slawomir Cisek heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Marcos Basso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baba Baba, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Ni Yu Feng was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 74 minutes into the match. Marcos Basso had in the 77thth minute some difficulties stopping Cléber Marinho's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. John Jernberg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcos Basso having to make a save. Staffan Eckegren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niklas Lundqvist in the 89th minute of play. Torgny Söderström hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Marcos Basso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Horea Vulcănescu's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. In the 95th match minute, G A I S was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cléber Marinho to maneuver through the defense. Ipswich Traktor Boys's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
