The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Poranna Team getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Artur Gonsiewski hit a great ball. Flávio Diniz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stasio Wicherek read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Zenon Bykowski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Stasio Wicherek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 21st minute Daniel Haskiewicz suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. 21 minutes into the game, Sebastian Zapolski was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Poranna Team's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Schalke 04 the free kick. Schalke 04's Ulryk Drugi was substituted for Daniel Haskiewicz. If Zenon Bykowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Waldemar Haskiewicz during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Poranna Team getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Waldemar Haskiewicz hit a great ball. With his leg Stasio Wicherek managed to avoid a goal in the 33rdth minute, when Schalke 04's Flávio Diniz fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 34 played minutes Schalke 04 got a freekick which was hit by Zenon Bykowski. After a rather tough play, Schalke 04's Aureliusz Brudzisz got a free kick in the 36th minute. Grzegorz Jaworski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugeniusz Mnich in the 38th minute of play. 42 minutes into the game, one of Poranna Team:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Eugeniusz Mnich made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Poranna Team's goal looked a bit too open when Flávio Diniz came free, but Stasio Wicherek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 58thth minute of the game Eugeniusz Mnich who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Schalke 04's Grzegorz Jaworski was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Poranna Team fans' excitement grew in the 60th match minute when Poranna Team's Eugeniusz Mnich looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Grzegorz Jaworski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugeniusz Mnich, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Grzegorz Jaworski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eugeniusz Mnich, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Ben McBeolain struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Stasio Wicherek didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Schalke 04. When Adam Resel came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Schalke 04 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adam Resel couldn't finish the play. Despite being the better team, Schalke 04 failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
