The audience thought a goal was coming when Grzegorz Fink got free with Boruc Scislowicz in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Erling Samuelsson kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. After having played for 10 minutes, Mieszko Czerniak managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Michałkowice's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mieszko Czerniak was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 12 minutes into the game, Lech Wieczorek threw the ball into play from the sideline. Michałkowice's Tolek Wykowski quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 19 minutes into the game, Herbert Knopper cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Feliks Osowski was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Legia Warszawa's goalkeeper Feliks Osowski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 27 minutes into the match, Michałkowice's goal looked a bit too open when Semavi Sertel came free, but Boruc Scislowicz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 29 played minutes Legia Warszawa got a freekick which was hit by Antoni Bondel. In the 34th minute, Mieszko Czerniak left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Michałkowice fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Herbert Knopper scored 0-3 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Feliks Osowski, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mieszko Czerniak was the one to do the kick off. Feliks Osowski made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Mieszko Czerniak sent off a good shot on target. Boruc Scislowicz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Delgado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58th match minute, Legia Warszawa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Grzegorz Fink to maneuver through the defense. Mieszko Czerniak could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Feliks Osowski made a huge save. Boruc Scislowicz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmet Haşim Özsan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee felt a red card was in order, 62 minutes into the game, when Antoni Bondel put in a rough tackle. After 63 played minutes Legia Warszawa got a freekick which was hit by Antoni Bondel. If Tobiasz Ruszkowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Michałkowice's Boruc Scislowicz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Delgado in the 69th minute of play. Miguel Delgado kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herbert Knopper in the 76th minute of play forced Legia Warszawa's goalkeeper Feliks Osowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Michałkowice booed when Legia Warszawa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Semavi Sertel didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Legia Warszawa's Lech Wieczorek got a free kick in the 81st minute. Feliks Osowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Przemyslaw Bienienda in the 82nd minute of play. Mieszko Czerniak struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Feliks Osowski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Michałkowice. Miguel Delgado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tobiasz Ruszkowski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Boruc Scislowicz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Delgado in the 92nd minute of play forced Michałkowice's goalkeeper Boruc Scislowicz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Tobiasz Ruszkowski came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Legia Warszawa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tobiasz Ruszkowski couldn't finish the play. If Tobiasz Ruszkowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Michałkowice eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
