Ks Górnik Zabrze's Cyprian Treppa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wasyl Turak in the 11th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, GKS United's goal looked a bit too open when Teobald Gierlach came free, but Karl-Michael Nyberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Karl-Michael Nyberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wasyl Literski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wasyl Literski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 27th minute Wit Wierzchowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cyprian Treppa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wasyl Literski in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Karl-Michael Nyberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Wasyl Literski put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Karl-Michael Nyberg. Cyprian Treppa made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Napoleon Polek sent off a good shot on target. Patryk Rasiak charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patryk Rasiak the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 40th minute, Patryk Rasiak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 41 minutes into the match, Ks Górnik Zabrze's Waldemar Blochowiak broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wasyl Turak to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Ks Górnik Zabrze got a freekick which was hit by Waldemar Blochowiak. Korneliusz Tscherner tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Cyprian Treppa. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-1 in the 53rd minute. Wasyl Turak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cyprian Treppa having to interfere. After 63 minutes of play, GKS United's Wit Wierzchowski made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cyprian Treppa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Boleslaw Gacek charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Boleslaw Gacek the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of GKS United booed when Ks Górnik Zabrze was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boleslaw Gacek didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patryk Rasiak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cyprian Treppa having to interfere. Ks Górnik Zabrze's attentive Dobromir Felenak managed to snatch the ball when Napoleon Tomiczek made a throw-in in the 89th minute of the game. When Zbigniew Antoszewski fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GKS United's protests and gave Zbigniew Antoszewski a yellow card for diving instead. Zbigniew Antoszewski hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wit Wierzchowski in the 93rd minute of play forced Ks Górnik Zabrze's goalkeeper Cyprian Treppa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. GKS United's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
