Ossala SA's Wlodzimierz Hoffman got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 12th match minute, Sao Paolo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lukasz Indyk to maneuver through the defense. In the 15th minute Wlodzimierz Hoffman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radomir Frankowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Rudolf van der Saar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Filip Przewozik was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Luís Eduardo Lara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rudolf van der Saars short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Filip Przewozik to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariusz Rakoski in the 28th minute of play forced Sao Paolo's goalkeeper Radomir Frankowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Sao Paolo fans' excitement grew in the 34th match minute when Sao Paolo's Rudolf van der Saar looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Franciszek Gmoch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariusz Rakoski in the 43rd minute of play forced Sao Paolo's goalkeeper Radomir Frankowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luís Eduardo Lara didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 3-0 via right post in the game's 47th minute. Sao Paolo's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rudolf van der Saar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Filip Przewozik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iustinian Encea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 58 minutes of play, Sao Paolo's Zdzislaw Majtyka made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Filip Przewozik was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 62nd minute, Iustinian Encea left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sao Paolo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. If Zdzislaw Majtyka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sao Paolo's Iustinian Encea got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 71st minute, Iustinian Encea ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Filip Przewozik was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. 77 minutes into the match, Sao Paolo's goal looked a bit too open when Wlodzimierz Hoffman came free, but Radomir Frankowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Sao Paolo's zone, Wlodzimierz Hoffman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Radomir Frankowski came out of the goal and Wlodzimierz Hoffman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sao Paolo's attentive Waldemar Kosowski managed to snatch the ball when Fryderyk Fujarczuk made a throw-in in the 83rd minute of the game. Franciszek Gmoch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Filip Przewozik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iustinian Encea took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Filip Przewozik. Filip Przewozik dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wlodzimierz Hoffman in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Radomir Frankowski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sao Paolo's Waldemar Kosowski got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Filip Przewozik showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iustinian Encea in the 96th minute of the match. When the referee ended the match the Sao Paolo players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
