After a defensive mix-up in AC Milan's zone, Adam Babicki stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ryszard Borcz came out of the goal and Adam Babicki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ryszard Borcz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adam Babicki in the 10th minute of the match. Tolek Drozdowski kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Michal Gacek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gwidon Kajfasz in the 17th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gwidon Kajfasz in the 22nd minute of play forced Santos FC's goalkeeper Michal Gacek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute Andrzej Kapera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michal Gacek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Santos FC's Zachariasz Weyna got a free kick in the 24th minute. After having played for 25 minutes, Andrzej Kapera managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AC Milan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andrzej Kapera was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adam Babicki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Ryszard Borcz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Radomir Bubczyk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ryszard Borcz having to interfere. Radomir Bubczyk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 37 minutes in the game, Adam Babicki fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ryszard Borcz having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Radomir Bubczyk took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Ryszard Borcz to make any attempt to save it. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When Zachariasz Weyna fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Santos FC's protests and gave Zachariasz Weyna a yellow card for diving instead. 71 minutes into the game, Radomir Bubczyk cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Ryszard Borcz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Adam Babicki struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Ryszard Borcz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santos FC. In the 81st minute of the match, Andrzej Kapera got a very nice opportunity to score, but Michal Gacek was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Andrzej Kapera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the AC Milan players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Santos FC.
