Spectators: 7250 (Terracing: 5439, Seating: 1667, VIP seats: 144) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ulryk Sienkiewicz took the kick off in the first half of the match. Aleksander Barycz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Aleksander Latocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aleksander Latocha made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Aleksander Barycz sent off a good shot on target. After 15 played minutes Wisła Sandomierz got a freekick which was hit by Roland Gaszynski. When the match clock showed 16 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Aleksander Barycz sped through Wisła Sandomierz's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Aleksander Latocha. Roland Gaszynski hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Ulryk Sienkiewicz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newport's supporters rose to their feet, but Ulryk Sienkiewicz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aleksander Latocha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 25 minutes into the game, Wisła Sandomierz's Roch Czajkowski nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Olaf Gacki made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 29 minutes into the match, Wisła Sandomierz's goal looked a bit too open when Ulryk Sienkiewicz came free, but Aleksander Latocha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, Wisła Sandomierz's goalkeeper Aleksander Latocha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aleksander Barycz. 33 minutes into the match, Wisła Sandomierz's goal looked a bit too open when Ulryk Sienkiewicz came free, but Aleksander Latocha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Olaf Gacki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilbert Grabowicz in the 36th minute of the match. Roch Czajkowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olaf Gacki having to interfere. If Gilbert Grabowicz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 43 minutes into the match, Newport's goal looked a bit too open when Gilbert Grabowicz came free, but Olaf Gacki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 56th minute, Wisła Sandomierz's Pawel Kaczeniak seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Pawel Kaczeniak the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Wisła Sandomierz protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Pawel Kaczeniak had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Wisła Sandomierz fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 55th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Newport a penalty, 58 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Filip Sienkiewicz, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Wisła Sandomierz's Aleksander Latocha. 2-1. When Grzegorz Cieliczka fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Newport's protests and gave Grzegorz Cieliczka a yellow card for diving instead. Grzegorz Cieliczka hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Olaf Gacki made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roch Czajkowski in the 68th minute. After a rather tough play, Newport's Barnaba Bielenda got a free kick in the 68th minute. Roland Gaszynski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 77 minutes into the match, Roch Czajkowski had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Olaf Gacki. Newport's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Roch Czajkowski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Olaf Gacki made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Roch Czajkowski sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Newport's Olaf Gacki got control of the ball when Roch Czajkowski tried to sneak it across the goal line. Wisła Sandomierz's Aleksander Latocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulryk Sienkiewicz in the 93rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roch Czajkowski got free with Olaf Gacki in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Despite being the better team, Wisła Sandomierz failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
