The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Antoni Trac made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Wlodzimierz Juszkowski sent off a good shot on target. Antoni Trac made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrzej Frenzel in the 7th minute of play. Andrzej Frenzel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 14 minutes into the game, one of Anabole Szczucin:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Antoni Trac had in the 16thth minute some difficulties stopping Ryszard Modliszewski's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Antoni Trac showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrzej Frenzel in the 17th minute of the match. Antoni Trac made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrzej Frenzel in the 20th minute of play. If Andrzej Frenzel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 24 minutes, Olaf Korytkowski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Anabole Szczucin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olaf Korytkowski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tolek Dziura showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olaf Korytkowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. The supporters of Anabole Szczucin booed when FC Mikołów was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antoni Magdziarz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tolek Czajka was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 31st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 34 minutes into the match, Anabole Szczucin's goal looked a bit too open when Andrzej Frenzel came free, but Antoni Trac reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36th minute Andrzej Frenzel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antoni Trac saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anabole Szczucin's Antoni Trac proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Anabole Szczucin from getting a goal against them. 44 minutes into the match, FC Mikołów's Ryszard Modliszewski broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Teobald Domaracki in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tolek Dziura prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Andrzej Frenzel was the one to do the kick off. Tadeusz Jestrimski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 52nd minute, Olgierd Jankowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Olaf Korytkowski took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Tolek Dziura to make any attempt to save it. With a little luck, FC Mikołów's Tolek Dziura got control of the ball when Teobald Domaracki tried to sneak it across the goal line. Olaf Korytkowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tolek Dziura having to interfere. Teobald Domaracki recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Olaf Korytkowski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tolek Dziura was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. FC Mikołów's Wlodzimierz Juszkowski got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 79 minutes into the game, Jan Miodek was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Anabole Szczucin's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Mikołów the free kick. After a rather tough play, Anabole Szczucin's Jan Miodek got a free kick in the 79th minute. Olaf Korytkowski might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tolek Dziura. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Olaf Korytkowski ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 92nd minute, Olaf Korytkowski fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The Anabole Szczucin players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
