Czerwona Gwiazda Poznań's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 20th minute of the match, Pankracy Zima tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jerzy Drzewucki saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Iwo Domaradzki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Jerzy Drzewucki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pankracy Zima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerzy Drzewucki having to interfere. Antoni Sienkiewicz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Krzysztof Burowski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Boleslaw Mierzejewski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 46 minutes into the game, Czerwona Gwiazda Poznań's Pankracy Zima nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jerzy Drzewucki made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. The Czerwona Gwiazda Poznań players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Podwolina were winning 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pankracy Zima stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Podwolina got a freekick which was hit by Bogumil Tobaczewski. If Iwo Domaradzki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Podwolina were furious when Wladyslaw Soliwoda was red carded, 61 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 67th minute Iwo Domaradzki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jerzy Drzewucki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 77thth minute of the game Pankracy Zima who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Podwolina's Jerzy Drzewucki was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Andrzej Indyk hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Pankracy Zima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Krzysztof Burowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stasio Moczkiewicz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
