An unexpectedly hard shot by Adam Kaznocha in the 13th minute of play forced Zawisza Bydgoszcz's goalkeeper Florian Czerny to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 14 minutes, Edward Latkiewicz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zawisza Bydgoszcz and the SCA Toruń players grew even worse after the yellow card. Zawisza Bydgoszcz's Florian Czerny proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Zawisza Bydgoszcz from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hugon Kloczko during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Zdzislaw Lech showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Feliks Mochowak, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. With a little luck, SCA Toruń's Zdzislaw Lech got control of the ball when Feliks Mochowak tried to sneak it across the goal line. Zdzislaw Lech tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Feliks Mochowak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zdzislaw Lech having to interfere. Zawisza Bydgoszcz were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing SCA Toruń to leave the ground with a draw.
