After having played for 17 minutes, Andrzej Wielkopolski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Ilinsk's Beniamin Filanowski slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Stefan Cisek. That made the score 1-0 after 20 minutes of play. Waldemar Sierocki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrzej Wielkopolski in the 24th minute of the match. 26 minutes into the game, GKS 1962 Jastrzębie's Artur Naskrent nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Waldemar Sierocki made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Waldemar Sierocki came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by GKS 1962 Jastrzębie's Andrzej Wielkopolski. But to his dismay, Andrzej Wielkopolski quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. If Artur Naskrent had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zbyszko Koprowski struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Stefan Cisek didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ilinsk. 44 minutes into the match, GKS 1962 Jastrzębie's goalkeeper Stefan Cisek had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Herbert Bielenda. After having played for 47 minutes, Beniamin Filanowski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sylwester Sakowicz lost his temper 54 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 53rd minute of the game. One of Ilinsk:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of GKS 1962 Jastrzębie:s goal. Andrzej Wielkopolski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Waldemar Sierocki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 96 played minutes Ilinsk got a freekick which was hit by Bogumil Osielski. The GKS 1962 Jastrzębie players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
