The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gwidon Awizo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aleksander Dulka, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Robert Malewicki got free with Maciej Brodzki in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Robert Malewicki recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 16 minutes into the match, Legia Warszawa's Wlodzimierz Czekaj sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Maciej Brodzki narrowly saved just below the crossbar. WSP Białystok's Klement Bulkiewicz got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Klement Bulkiewicz struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Gwidon Awizo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for WSP Białystok. After having played for 28 minutes, Klement Bulkiewicz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. WSP Białystok's supporters crossed their fingers, but Klement Bulkiewicz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 29th minute Bartlomiej Antoszewski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gwidon Awizo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31stth minute of the game Wlodzimierz Czekaj who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but WSP Białystok's Maciej Brodzki was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The nice shot from Robert Malewicki in the 32ndth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Maciej Brodzki had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Wlodzimierz Czekaj fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maciej Brodzki having to interfere. In the 38th match minute, WSP Białystok was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aleksander Dulka to maneuver through the defense. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Klement Bulkiewicz to strike the kick off in the second half. Boruc Biskupiak charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Boruc Biskupiak the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Klement Bulkiewicz had several of the Legia Warszawa's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 58 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-1 score and a disappointed Gwidon Awizo as he didn't even see the shot coming. After a defensive mix-up in Legia Warszawa's zone, Klement Bulkiewicz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gwidon Awizo came out of the goal and Klement Bulkiewicz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, WSP Białystok's Jerzy Sroka got a free kick in the 63rd minute. After recieving a nice pass, Legia Warszawa's Milosz Fiszer tried to score from far away in the 64th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Aleksander Dulka recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 72 minutes into the match, Legia Warszawa's Robert Malewicki sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Maciej Brodzki narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jurand Sokol during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 78th minute, Jurand Sokol hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 79 minutes into the match, Legia Warszawa's Milosz Fiszer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Maciej Brodzki narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bartlomiej Antoszewski got free with Gwidon Awizo in the 99th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The WSP Białystok supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing WSP Białystok would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
