In the 22nd minute, Kojdy SSA's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Andrzej Olchowy fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Teobald Gongola was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 24 minutes into the match. After 23 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Kojdy SSA! Slawomir Pieknik had in the 26thth minute some difficulties stopping Igor Kaczorowski's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Andrzej Olchowy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 2-0 became the score in the 33rd minute when Leszek Jaraczewski elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Dobromir Zdrojewski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 46 played minutes Suwałki SA got a freekick which was hit by Igor Kaczorowski. In the 48th minute Herbert Rasiak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Kiewra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The audience was convinced that Andrzej Olchowy's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Slawomir Pieknik was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. After some careless play in the Kojdy SSA defense, Andrzej Olchowy kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Slawomir Pieknik. The Kojdy SSA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Slawomir Pieknik should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Kojdy SSA's zone, Leszek Jaraczewski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Slawomir Pieknik came out of the goal and Leszek Jaraczewski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Slawomir Pieknik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrzej Olchowy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leszek Jaraczewski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
