The long shot by Zachariasz Cymbal in the 19th minute really tested Dominik Michnik's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The supporters of lech poznań booed when Cracovia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Konstanty Michalski didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Konstanty Michalski managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cracovia's supporters rose to their feet, but Konstanty Michalski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lucjan Gurgul breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 27 minutes into the game, Zula Brodzki was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. lech poznań's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cracovia the free kick. Cracovia's Dominik Michnik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Szymon Malewicki in the 33rd minute of play. lech poznań's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Stanislaw Kensicki in the 34th minute. After 37 played minutes, Cracovia's Waldemar Karwowski shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lucjan Gurgul came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cracovia reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Szymon Malewicki in the 39th minute of play forced Cracovia's goalkeeper Dominik Michnik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st minute of the match lech poznań got a corner. Cracovia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Stanislaw Kensicki ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led lech poznań's Stanislaw Kensicki to fire away a dangerous shot which Dominik Michnik despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. A collision led to lech poznań getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Eugeniusz Grajewski hit a great ball. Cracovia's Miromir Pietrowiak got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lucjan Gurgul showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgar Gniech, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edgar Gniech to make the kick off. Dominik Michnik showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Przemyslaw Brak in the 52nd minute of the match. Edgar Gniech might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lucjan Gurgul. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edgar Gniech ran back to his position shaking his head. The lech poznań fans' excitement grew in the 57th match minute when lech poznań's Szymon Malewicki looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 66 played minutes Cracovia got a freekick which was hit by Stefan Kasperowicz. After a defensive mix-up in Cracovia's zone, Szymon Malewicki stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dominik Michnik came out of the goal and Szymon Malewicki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 71st minute, Konrad Gecionis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. lech poznań's Stanislaw Kensicki couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Cracovia. Zula Brodzki was shown his second yellow card after 74 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Lucjan Gurgul made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adam Maruda in the 76th minute. Lucjan Gurgul showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Gniech in the 78th minute of the match. Adam Maruda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Lucjan Gurgul made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tadeusz Malik in the 92nd minute of play forced Cracovia's goalkeeper Dominik Michnik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Cracovia's zone, Tadeusz Malik stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dominik Michnik came out of the goal and Tadeusz Malik tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
