Lucjan Piszczor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aivaras Adomavičius having to interfere. Arkadiusz Kaznocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Teofil Skwira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tadeusz Latkiewicz went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After having played for 28 minutes, Eric Brummer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zawisza Bydgoszcz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eric Brummer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Zawisza Bydgoszcz getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Filip Sliwinski hit a great ball. Lucjan Piszczor succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 31st playminute. In the 34th minute, Tadeusz Latkiewicz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aivaras Adomavičius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arkadiusz Kaznocha in the 35th minute of play. If Eric Brummer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Eric Brummer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th minute Eric Brummer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teofil Skwira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arkadiusz Kaznocha made a kick off. After 52 played minutes Zawisza Bydgoszcz got a freekick which was hit by Konrad Glembin. In the 54th minute of the match Wincenty Scigan shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aivaras Adomavičius showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Waldemar Przybylo in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aivaras Adomavičius prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Szembory's goalkeeper Teofil Skwira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 61 minutes into the match, Szembory's goalkeeper Teofil Skwira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eric Brummer. Szembory's Arkadiusz Kaznocha got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arkadiusz Kaznocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aivaras Adomavičius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arkadiusz Kaznocha in the 68th minute of play. Szembory's Teofil Skwira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tadeusz Latkiewicz in the 71st minute of play. In the 80th minute Tadeusz Latkiewicz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teofil Skwira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 81st minute, Zachariasz Jankowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 82 minutes into the match, Eric Brummer dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Teofil Skwira, 1-2. 86 minutes into the match, Szembory's Arkadiusz Kaznocha sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aivaras Adomavičius narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Szembory booed when Zawisza Bydgoszcz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filip Sliwinski didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Zawisza Bydgoszcz supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Zawisza Bydgoszcz would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
