Piotr Ruzicki showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marty Hayles in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Krisztián Veress prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Piotr Ruzicki managed to get in a good position for a shot. Balet Olsztyn's supporters rose to their feet, but Piotr Ruzicki was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Milosz Malewicki breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Górnik Zabrze's Mieszko Juroszek got a free kick in the 15th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Balet Olsztyn's zone, Marty Hayles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Krisztián Veress came out of the goal and Marty Hayles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Balet Olsztyn's Antonia Merrill managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Bogumil Siekierski in the 27 minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Górnik Zabrze's Beniamin Kazimierz got a free kick in the 28th minute. Marty Hayles's late challenge caught a Balet Olsztyn's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marty Hayles helped the player get up and apologised. Marty Hayles kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Piotr Ruzicki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Balet Olsztyn's goalkeeper Krisztián Veress, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 34th match minute, Balet Olsztyn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Napoleon Kempski to maneuver through the defense. Balet Olsztyn's Piotr Ruzicki got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Milosz Malewicki made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcin Murdza in the 46th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Krisztián Veress was a little too slow when Beniamin Kazimierz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 55th minute. The score was now 2-1. Balet Olsztyn's Antonia Merrill quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Beniamin Kazimierz, made in the 58th minute of the game. Marcin Murdza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Milosz Malewicki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 66th minute, Jedrzej Walentowicz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Krisztián Veress made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marty Hayles in the 69th minute. 69 minutes into the game, Marty Hayles lined in a short shot 2-2 behind a frustrated Krisztián Veress. Mieszko Juroszek, 72 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 74th minute, Marty Hayles ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Krisztián Veress was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Czeslaw Mazurkiewicz hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. A well done corner resulted in Marty Hayles drilling the ball in to score 2-4 behind Balet Olsztyn's goalkeeper. Górnik Zabrze's Milosz Malewicki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Barowicz in the 84th minute of play. 87 minutes into the game, Beniamin Kazimierz threw the ball into play from the sideline. Balet Olsztyn's Napoleon Kempski quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. A sloppy throw-in by Beniamin Kazimierz in the 89th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Balet Olsztyn's Antonia Merrill. 90 minutes into the match, Górnik Zabrze's goal looked a bit too open when Marcin Murdza came free, but Milosz Malewicki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 94 minutes, Piotr Ruzicki managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Balet Olsztyn's supporters crossed their fingers, but Piotr Ruzicki was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Piotr Ruzicki recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Górnik Zabrze's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
