Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Norbert Michalski started the match with the kick off. Raí Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 11 minutes into the match, Marty Hayles notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Legia Warszawa's Radomir Pilsudski. Radomir Pilsudski was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 14th minute, Raí Costa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Radomir Pilsudski was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marty Hayles in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Radomir Pilsudski saved Legia Warszawa from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ziemowit Sniegowski in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Milosz Malewicki prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Górnik Zabrze booed when Legia Warszawa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ziemowit Sniegowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Legia Warszawa's Norbert Michalski got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 30 minutes, Radomil Ratulowski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Górnik Zabrze and the Legia Warszawa players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Legia Warszawa booed when Górnik Zabrze was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Radomil Ratulowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Milosz Malewicki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norbert Michalski in the 34th minute of play. If Norbert Michalski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute, Norbert Michalski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Legia Warszawa players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Górnik Zabrze were winning 0-3.

In the 54th minute, Filip Kaczorowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marty Hayles took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Radomir Pilsudski. Radomir Pilsudski dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Boguslaw Duszenski during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 70 played minutes Legia Warszawa got a freekick which was hit by Boguslaw Duszenski. Milosz Malewicki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norbert Michalski in the 71st minute of play. Marty Hayles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Radomir Pilsudski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Milosz Malewicki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Boguslaw Duszenski in the 80th minute of the match. With his leg Radomir Pilsudski managed to avoid a goal in the 89thth minute, when Górnik Zabrze's Marty Hayles fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 90th minute, Filip Kaczorowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marty Hayles who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 93rdth minute tested the skills of Radomir Pilsudski when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Radomir Pilsudski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mauricio Mancio in the 94th minute of the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Górnik Zabrze had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
