Match Report

GKS Katowice
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0)
It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Miromir Kensicki kicked off to start the match. Konstanty Panasewicz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Franciszek Wicherek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cezary Mosiniak scored 0-1 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Konstanty Panasewicz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Franciszek Wicherek came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Gortaty fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Franciszek Wicherek couldn't finish the play. Konstanty Panasewicz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cezary Mosiniak went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After having played for 15 minutes, Stefan Zarobski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GKS Katowice's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stefan Zarobski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 0-3 became the score in the 16th minute when Cezary Mosiniak elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The supporters of Gortaty booed when GKS Katowice was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jerzy Sala didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Gortaty's Jerzy Konopka got control of the ball when Stefan Zarobski tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cezary Mosiniak in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Konstanty Panasewicz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 26th minute of the match Grzegorz Wodaszak sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Konstanty Panasewicz skillfully saved the ball. 29 minutes into the game, Cezary Mosiniak cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Konstanty Panasewicz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to GKS Katowice getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Tolek Kochanowicz hit a great ball. After 34 played minutes, Gortaty's Grzegorz Wodaszak shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Konstanty Panasewicz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gortaty reached it. Konstanty Panasewicz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cezary Mosiniak in the 35th minute of the match. When Slawomir Turok fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GKS Katowice's protests and gave Slawomir Turok a yellow card for diving instead. Konstanty Panasewicz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cezary Mosiniak in the 42nd minute of play. Cezary Mosiniak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cezary Mosiniak to strike the kick off in the second half. Teofil Skorny charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Teofil Skorny the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 51st match minute, GKS Katowice was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teofil Skorny to maneuver through the defense. In the 52nd minute, Aleksander Bykowski sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and GKS Katowice's Konstanty Panasewicz didn't even have to move. Gortaty's Cezary Mosiniak got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Slawomir Turok struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Jerzy Konopka didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GKS Katowice. Konstanty Panasewicz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cezary Mosiniak showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 58 minute of play. 60 minutes into the game, Franciszek Wicherek recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Konstanty Panasewicz. Franciszek Wicherek showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. In the 66th minute, Radomil Zyskowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cezary Mosiniak in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Konstanty Panasewicz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Franciszek Wicherek got free with Konstanty Panasewicz in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Konstanty Panasewicz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cezary Mosiniak showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-7 in the 80 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miromir Kensicki in the 84th minute of play forced Gortaty's goalkeeper Jerzy Konopka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Franciszek Wicherek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 87 played minutes Franciszek Wicherek could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 0-8 into the left cross. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Cezary Mosiniak managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gortaty's supporters rose to their feet, but Cezary Mosiniak was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Konstanty Panasewicz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When %teams%'s Cezary Mosiniak was free in front of goal, he didn't hesitate to shoot 0-9 just inside the left pole, 92 minutes into the game. Konstanty Panasewicz was annoyed at himself for letting in the shot. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Gortaty walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
