The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Piotr Hodyl came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the CWKS LEGIA WARSZAWA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Piotr Hodyl couldn't finish the play. Przemyslaw Kicia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Piotr Hodyl in the 9th minute of the match. Przemyslaw Kicia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Piotr Hodyl, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Piotr Hodyl in the 24th minute of play forced OPP Wrocław's goalkeeper Przemyslaw Kicia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 26 played minutes OPP Wrocław got a freekick which was hit by Corné van der Bij. Piotr Hodyl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Przemyslaw Kicia having to interfere. Przemyslaw Kicia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Piotr Hodyl, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Zenon Hajder put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Przemyslaw Kicia. Piotr Hodyl took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Przemyslaw Kicia. Przemyslaw Kicia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Corné van der Bij stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Corné van der Bij recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 59th match minute, CWKS LEGIA WARSZAWA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Piotr Hodyl to maneuver through the defense. 60 minutes into the game, Piotr Hodyl was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CWKS LEGIA WARSZAWA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave OPP Wrocław the free kick. The supporters of OPP Wrocław booed when CWKS LEGIA WARSZAWA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Piotr Hodyl didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to CWKS LEGIA WARSZAWA getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Zenon Hajder hit a great ball. Zenon Hajder could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Przemyslaw Kicia made a huge save. 75 minutes into the game, Piotr Hodyl recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Przemyslaw Kicia. Piotr Hodyl showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. Przemyslaw Kicia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Piotr Hodyl in the 85th minute of the match. Remigiusz Naskrent made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Corné van der Bij in the 88th minute of play. Ryszard Parajewski made in the 90th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Mikolaj Smolarek. Zenon Hajder in the 92ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Przemyslaw Kicia, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.
