With a little luck, LKS START's Herbert Dankowski got control of the ball when Grzegorz Olszewski tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 30th minute Mieszko Nakonieczny shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ziemowit Petka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ziemowit Petka prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Mieszko Nakonieczny came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the LKS START fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mieszko Nakonieczny couldn't finish the play. Roman Redisz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ziemowit Petka read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Mieszko Nakonieczny managed to get in a good position for a shot. LKS START's supporters rose to their feet, but Mieszko Nakonieczny was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ziemowit Petka breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Roman Redisz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute.
