He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Legion Bażantów reached it. 17 minutes into the match, Dzikie Kormorany's goal looked a bit too open when Gustaw Bucyki came free, but Eugeniusz Czeszejko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Wincent Dudek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ziemowit Mios fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Witomir Tomaszewski having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Wincent Dudek managed to get in a good position for a shot. Legion Bażantów's supporters rose to their feet, but Wincent Dudek was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eugeniusz Czeszejko breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eugeniusz Czeszejko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaw Bucyki in the 24th minute of play. Wieslaw Pazura charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 46th minute Barnaba Derlanga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugeniusz Czeszejko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

After 66 minutes, Jerzy Smolarek mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Legion Bażantów and the Dzikie Kormorany players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eugeniusz Czeszejko stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gustaw Bucyki's shot from short distance in the 95th minute.
