After having played for 3 minutes, Radomil Smolarek managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Red Army's supporters crossed their fingers, but Radomil Smolarek was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 8 minutes into the game, Radomil Smolarek recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Borys Zakrzewski. Radomil Smolarek showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. A collision led to Red Army getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Iwan Pawlik hit a great ball. Eugeniusz Kochanowski scored 3-0 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Borys Zakrzewski, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Eugeniusz Kochanowski struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Borys Zakrzewski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Red Army. 4-0 became the score in the 21st minute when Radomil Smolarek elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Red Army's Radomil Smolarek slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Borys Zakrzewski. That made the score 6-0 after 28 minutes of play. Eugeniusz Kochanowski blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Borys Zakrzewski having to make a save. Borys Zakrzewski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugeniusz Kochanowski in the 32nd minute of play. Przemyslaw Okopny fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Borys Zakrzewski having to interfere. Eugeniusz Kochanowskis short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Borys Zakrzewski to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Eugeniusz Kochanowski who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 36thth minute tested the skills of Borys Zakrzewski when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Tiger Team Zabrze's Borys Zakrzewski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Radomil Smolarek in the 39th minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Radoslaw Marczyniec hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 6-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Radoslaw Marczyniec was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Red Army's Jaroslaw Gabis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The audience was convinced that Radomil Smolarek's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Borys Zakrzewski was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. 8-0 became the score in the 64th minute when Radomil Smolarek elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Borys Zakrzewski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Radomil Smolarek, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Tiger Team Zabrze's Borys Zakrzewski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugeniusz Kochanowski in the 86th minute of play. Red Army's Jacek Kazczyk suffered a sore foot after 88 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Radoslaw Marczyniec charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Radoslaw Marczyniec the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Red Army's Edmund Michnik was substituted for Jacek Kazczyk.
