The supporters of Warta Czestochowa booed when Smile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norbert Trzaskoma didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Bogumil Borkowski came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Warta Czestochowa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bogumil Borkowski couldn't finish the play. Mieszko Pacholewski was a little too slow when Teobald Liermann got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 45th minute. The score was now 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
