The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Barnaba Wydrych showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Radomil Jenkot in the 5th minute of the match. After 7th play minutes Tobiasz Budacz shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Tolek Tyski and just under the crossbar into goal. Borussia Dortmund's Tolek Tyski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Borussia Dortmund from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Borussia Dortmund defense, Rafal Kaczanka kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tolek Tyski. The Borussia Dortmund fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tolek Tyski should have stopped the shot. 17 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund's goalkeeper Tolek Tyski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rafal Kaczanka. Tolek Tyski was a little too slow when Tobiasz Budacz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 19th minute. The score was now 3-0. With his leg Tolek Tyski managed to avoid a goal in the 30thth minute, when Polan Września's Rafal Kaczanka fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to Borussia Dortmund getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Kajetan Banan hit a great ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 33 minutes into the game, when Rafal Dziedziak put in a rough tackle. In the 33rd minute, one of Borussia Dortmund:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Borussia Dortmund. After 39 played minutes Polan Września got a freekick which was hit by Herbert Arbaszewski. When Radomil Jenkot came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Borussia Dortmund fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Radomil Jenkot couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Borussia Dortmund's zone, Rafal Kaczanka stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tolek Tyski came out of the goal and Rafal Kaczanka tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Radomil Jenkot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafal Kaczanka got free with Tolek Tyski in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rafal Kaczanka made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund's goal looked a bit too open when Rafal Kaczanka came free, but Tolek Tyski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Herbert Arbaszewski made a great header on Polan Września's corner, it was just that Borussia Dortmund's Tolek Tyski managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 57th minute of the match, Radomil Jenkot got a very nice opportunity to score, but Barnaba Wydrych was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 60 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund's goal looked a bit too open when Tobiasz Budacz came free, but Tolek Tyski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rafal Kaczanka in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tolek Tyski saved Borussia Dortmund from getting behind. Polan Września were awarded a corner in the 74th minute after Borussia Dortmund's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Herbert Arbaszewski took the corner. The corner ended in Herbert Arbaszewski almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Borussia Dortmund's Tolek Tyski did a great save. Robert Komanski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tolek Tyski having to interfere. After 78 played minutes Polan Września got a freekick which was hit by Wawrzyniec Szkaradek. 82 minutes had been played when some careless play by Polan Września's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Kajetan Banan was slow to take the kick. During this time Borussia Dortmund's players had a chance to rest. 85 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund's goal looked a bit too open when Rafal Kaczanka came free, but Tolek Tyski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Tobiasz Budacz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tolek Tyski was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. Barnaba Wydrych took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hieronim Logewnik, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tolek Tyski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafal Kaczanka in the 95th minute of play. Polan Września walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
