But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Herbert Zurawski couldn't finish the play. In the 28th minute Bartosz Barowicz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walery Bartelak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When BydgoskieWilki's Angelo Laurentzi in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pogoń Orły's goalie prevented a goal. Hubert Simpson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Roman Cwojdak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Walery Bartelak took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angelo Laurentzi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind BydgoskieWilki's goalkeeper Roman Cwojdak, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by BydgoskieWilki's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marek Malik was slow to take the kick. During this time Pogoń Orły's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Pogoń Orły's Marek Malik to fire away a dangerous shot which Roman Cwojdak despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Hubert Simpson struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Roman Cwojdak didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pogoń Orły. Benedykt Konieczny hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bartosz Barowicz in the 42nd minute of play forced Pogoń Orły's goalkeeper Walery Bartelak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in BydgoskieWilki's zone, Herbert Zurawski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roman Cwojdak came out of the goal and Herbert Zurawski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Herbert Zurawski made the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes of play, Pogoń Orły's Herbert Zurawski made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Roman Cwojdak was left in no man's land by his defense there! BydgoskieWilki's Roman Cwojdak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herbert Zurawski in the 55th minute of play. After a rather tough play, BydgoskieWilki's Dawid Chwalkiewicz got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 59th minute of the match Marek Malik shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Roman Cwojdak showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. BydgoskieWilki's Roman Cwojdak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wit Lato in the 67th minute of play. After 68 played minutes BydgoskieWilki got a freekick which was hit by Kryspin Gejda. Pogoń Orły made a substitution. Witold Koczara replaced Karol Rywin. After 69 played minutes BydgoskieWilki got a freekick which was hit by Kryspin Gejda. Roman Cwojdak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herbert Zurawski, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Bartosz Barowicz managed to get in a good position for a shot. BydgoskieWilki's supporters rose to their feet, but Bartosz Barowicz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walery Bartelak breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind BydgoskieWilki's goalkeeper Roman Cwojdak, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 75th minute, Kryspin Gejda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 95th minute, Herbert Zurawski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Roman Cwojdak was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Pogoń Orły fans cheered their team off the field, for while BydgoskieWilki had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
