A collision led to MKS Halemba getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Johnny Barnabé hit a great ball. Pogoń Orły's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Marek Malik in the 6th minute. Kazimierz Narbut hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Pogoń Orły's Walery Bartelak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johnny Barnabé in the 9th minute of play. Wit Lato could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Daniel Hajder made a huge save. When Herbert Zurawski came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Pogoń Orły fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Herbert Zurawski couldn't finish the play. Walery Bartelak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Johnny Barnabé, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 16th minute, Pogoń Orły's Leonard Paprotny dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 19th minute Wit Lato shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Hajder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Hajder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herbert Zurawski in the 20th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herbert Zurawski in the 26th minute of play forced MKS Halemba's goalkeeper Daniel Hajder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes into the match, MKS Halemba's goal looked a bit too open when Herbert Zurawski came free, but Daniel Hajder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Herbert Zurawski succeeded in the game's 31st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. Johnny Barnabé received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Walery Bartelak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marek Malik got free with Daniel Hajder in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Herbert Zurawski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Daniel Hajder was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. Daniel Hajder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herbert Zurawski in the 45th minute of play. After 46 minutes, Sylwester Miazga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MKS Halemba and the Pogoń Orły players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sylwester Miazga hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After having played for 51 minutes, Johnny Barnabé managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MKS Halemba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Johnny Barnabé was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Hajder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hubert Simpson in the 53rd minute of play. In the 57thth minute of the game Hubert Simpson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but MKS Halemba's Daniel Hajder was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Pogoń Orły's Karol Rywin got a free kick in the 59th minute. Tiburcio Cobos struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Walery Bartelak didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MKS Halemba. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Wit Lato managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pogoń Orły's supporters rose to their feet, but Wit Lato was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daniel Hajder breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marian Obuchowicz during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Marek Malik recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Hubert Simpson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Daniel Hajder was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Daniel Hajder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Boruc Szkarpiak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 79th match minute, MKS Halemba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johnny Barnabé to maneuver through the defense. MKS Halemba's Sylwester Miazga got his second yellow card of the match in the 80th minute. The referee ordered Sylwester Miazga off the ground. Pogoń Orły's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonard Paprotny was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daniel Hajder breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of MKS Halemba booed when Pogoń Orły was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wit Lato didn't get a good kick on the ball. Boruc Trzemzalski's late challenge caught a Pogoń Orły's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Boruc Trzemzalski helped the player get up and apologised. When the referee ended the match the Pogoń Orły players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
