An unexpectedly hard shot by Zygmunt Tyskie in the 20th minute of play forced Pogoń Szczecin's goalkeeper Marian Kajfasz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benedykt Ziomkowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Szymon Naskrent in the 23rd minute of the match. With a little luck, Ave Silesia's Benedykt Ziomkowski got control of the ball when Szymon Naskrent tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pogoń Szczecin's Marian Kajfasz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tadeusz Dec in the 25th minute of play. Benedykt Ziomkowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Krzysztof Mochadlo, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ryszard Bykowski in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benedykt Ziomkowski saved Ave Silesia from getting behind. 40 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Pogoń Szczecin's Ryszard Bykowski fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as Pogoń Szczecin's Krzysztof Mochadlo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Benedykt Ziomkowski. That made the score 1-1 after 42 minutes of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Michal Felenak's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benedykt Ziomkowski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. When the referee ended the match the Pogoń Szczecin players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
