Fredrik Reed sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 7 minutes into the match, SurMaga IL's goalkeeper Gjermund Øvrum had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Theodor Thorsø. Gjermund Øvrum made an important save on a dangerous shot by Theodor Thorsø in the 8th minute. After a defensive mix-up in SurMaga IL's zone, Theodor Thorsø stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gjermund Øvrum came out of the goal and Theodor Thorsø tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jan-Ivar Aarseth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Max Kvilhaug having to interfere. Carl Bore kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. After 19 played minutes, SurMaga IL's Johan Ryan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Max Kvilhaug came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SurMaga IL reached it. Harald Ingebrigtsen kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Jan-Ivar Aarseth recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alf-Inge Høgseth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gjermund Øvrum having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alf-Inge Høgseth to make the kick off. Alf-Inge Høgseth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gjermund Øvrum having to interfere. If Theodor Thorsø had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gjermund Øvrum showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alf-Inge Høgseth, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. 69 minutes into the game, Sven Skjerping was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rækvik FF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SurMaga IL the free kick. 69 minutes into the game, one of Rækvik FF:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Johan Ryan shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Thomas Valderhaug received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Max Kvilhaug tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Jan-Ivar Aarseth managed to get in a good position for a shot. SurMaga IL's supporters rose to their feet, but Jan-Ivar Aarseth was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Max Kvilhaug breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gjermund Øvrum came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Rækvik FF's Alf-Inge Høgseth. But to his dismay, Alf-Inge Høgseth quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Tor-Magnus Holmgren hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. 98 minutes into the match, Rækvik FF's goal looked a bit too open when Jan-Ivar Aarseth came free, but Max Kvilhaug reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Rækvik FF fans cheered their team off the field, for while SurMaga IL had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
