The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thomas Valderhaugs short, quick shot in the 3rdth minute got Håvard Due to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Gjermund Øvrum didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nicholas Haaland went, in the 4th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Yngvar Elden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Gjermund Øvrum tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jan-Frode Ulvik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SurMaga IL's Gjermund Øvrum played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yngvar Elden in the 9th minute of play. Jonas Bruun charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jonas Bruun the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to SurMaga IL getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Kasper Lønne hit a great ball. 14 minutes into the game, Sigve Knudsen recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Håvard Due. Sigve Knudsen showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Harald Ingebrigtsen during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 18th minute, Harald Ingebrigtsen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jan-Frode Ulvik struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Gjermund Øvrum didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tingvoll FC. Yngvar Elden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gjermund Øvrum having to interfere. If Jan-Frode Ulvik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicholas Haaland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26th minute of the match Martin Pedersen shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gjermund Øvrum showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After having played for 27 minutes, Jan-Frode Ulvik managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tingvoll FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan-Frode Ulvik was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The long shot by Carl-Rune Liseth in the 31st minute really tested Håvard Due's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After some careless play in the SurMaga IL defense, Jan-Frode Ulvik kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gjermund Øvrum. The SurMaga IL fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gjermund Øvrum should have stopped the shot. Håvard Due showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan-Ivar Aarseth, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. In the 38thth minute of the game Jan-Ivar Aarseth who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tingvoll FC's Håvard Due was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jan-Ivar Aarseth to strike the kick off in the second half. Snorre Fretheim took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 53rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gjermund Øvrum. SurMaga IL's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Jan-Frode Ulvik's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 57thth minute, Gjermund Øvrum skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 60 minutes into the game, Yngvar Elden cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-5. Gjermund Øvrum was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Yngvar Elden received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gjermund Øvrum came out and tried to block the shot, but Yngvar Elden slotted it home off the left post making it 1-6 in the 67th minute. Jan-Frode Ulvik took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gjermund Øvrum. Gjermund Øvrum dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-7. Gjermund Øvrum made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Jan-Frode Ulvik sent off a good shot on target. Through an outstanding action, after 86 minutes, Gjermund Øvrum successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When Jan-Frode Ulvik fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tingvoll FC's protests and gave Jan-Frode Ulvik a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Tingvoll FC getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Jan-Frode Ulvik hit a great ball. After 93 minutes of play, Tingvoll FC's Jan-Frode Ulvik made it 1-10 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gjermund Øvrum was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tingvoll FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
