After 5 played minutes Vindix spartans got a freekick which was hit by Lennart Fagervik. When Tage Sørum came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Øyeren IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tage Sørum couldn't finish the play. Vindix spartans's DeMarcus Baker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonathan Ljosland in the 8th minute of play. Jostein Strømme blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rasmus Aalvik having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Halvor Almaas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vindix spartans's supporters rose to their feet, but Halvor Almaas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rasmus Aalvik breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathan Ljosland in the 16th minute of play forced Vindix spartans's goalkeeper DeMarcus Baker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Jostein Strømme took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Rasmus Aalvik to make any attempt to save it. Christian Brønstad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 22nd minute, Halvor Almaas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Jonathan Ljosland's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but DeMarcus Baker was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. With a little luck, Øyeren IF's Rasmus Aalvik got control of the ball when Christian Brønstad tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Øyeren IF's zone, Christian Brønstad stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rasmus Aalvik came out of the goal and Christian Brønstad tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Jostein Strømme came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Vindix spartans fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jostein Strømme couldn't finish the play. In the 47th minute, Arnstein Lyngvær hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jostein Strømme to strike the kick off in the second half. Jostein Strømme blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rasmus Aalvik having to make a save. After having played for 55 minutes, Arnstein Lyngvær managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vindix spartans's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnstein Lyngvær was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathan Ljosland in the 58th minute of play forced Vindix spartans's goalkeeper DeMarcus Baker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Øyeren IF's Rasmus Aalvik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christian Brønstad in the 61st minute of play. DeMarcus Baker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Idar Kleveland, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Christian Brønstad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Rasmus Aalvik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Øyeren IF's Markus Lia got a free kick in the 76th minute. Markus Lia's late challenge caught a Vindix spartans's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Markus Lia helped the player get up and apologised. After 77 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Øyeren IF! The referee gave Vindix spartans a penalty, 79 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gard Granerud, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Øyeren IF's Rasmus Aalvik. 2-0. If Christian Brønstad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
