After 11 minutes of play, Gissenås's Bjørn Aarsland made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Johan Grønlund was left in no man's land by his defense there! Johan Grønlund made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Christer Lein sent off a good shot on target. 27 minutes into the match, Ulrik Eliassen dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Johan Grønlund, 2-0. Bjørn Aarsland could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Johan Grønlund made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bjørn Aarsland got free with Johan Grønlund in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 35 minutes into the match, Skagen FF's Aslak Solstad sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Karsten Malmin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bjørn Aarsland got free with Johan Grønlund in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ulrik Eliassen to make the kick off. Henrik Juvik could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Karsten Malmin made a huge save. 55 minutes into the game, Yngvar Lystad was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Skagen FF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gissenås the free kick. After 56 played minutes Skagen FF got a freekick which was hit by Yngvar Lystad. After some careless play in the Skagen FF defense, Ulrik Eliassen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Johan Grønlund. The Skagen FF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Johan Grønlund should have stopped the shot. Gissenås's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
