When Samuel Sjøen fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tension's protests and gave Samuel Sjøen a yellow card for diving instead. Jo Andresen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Stig-Inge Ingvaldsen charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stig-Inge Ingvaldsen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Tension booed when Storvika was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stig-Inge Ingvaldsen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th minute, Ole-Martin Friestad fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Rikard Langdalen, passed just outside the right post. The supporters of Tension booed when Storvika was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mathias Mehl didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute, Yngvar Størksen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Geir Solås made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Terje Heiberg in the 27th minute of play. Nils Kalstad struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Geir Solås didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Storvika. Ole-Martin Friestad might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rikard Langdalen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ole-Martin Friestad ran back to his position shaking his head. After 38 played minutes Tension got a freekick which was hit by Fred Knutsen. If Ole-Martin Friestad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Storvika's Rikard Langdalen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Storvika from getting a goal against them. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jo Andresen was the one to do the kick off. Rikard Langdalen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ole-Martin Friestad in the 54th minute of the match. After having played for 55 minutes, Nils Kalstad managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Storvika's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nils Kalstad was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 57 minutes into the match, Tension's goalkeeper Geir Solås had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nils Kalstad. Rikard Langdalen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ole-Martin Friestad in the 61st minute of play. Storvika's Rikard Langdalen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jo Andresen in the 63rd minute of play. Tension were awarded a corner in the 65th minute after Storvika's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Christer Sandvær took the corner. Mathias Mehl thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Rikard Langdalen, a very annoying self made goal in the 65th minute which led to 1-0. In the 69th minute, Terje Heiberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 75th match minute, Tension was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yngvar Størksen to maneuver through the defense. Jørund Oskarsen shot from long distance in the 76th minute, but Geir Solås was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. 80 minutes into the match, Storvika's goal looked a bit too open when Ole-Martin Friestad came free, but Rikard Langdalen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 81st minute Jo Andresen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rikard Langdalen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Nils Kalstad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Tension defense, Terje Heiberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Geir Solås. The Tension fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Geir Solås should have stopped the shot. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
