Storm Bergmann ran back to his position shaking his head. 11 minutes into the game, one of Jøssund FF:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Princeton University a penalty, 12 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Håvard Roth, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Jøssund FF's Leon Aandal. 0-1. In the 15th minute, Yngvar Bjørnå hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Jøssund FF's goalkeeper Leon Aandal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Christian Nyheim hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. In the 27th minute, Storm Bergmann made a precise shot to the right of Leon Aandal. Jøssund FF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Morten Næsheim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Christer Misje sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Øyvind Aaland could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Kent Stølen made a huge save. 42 minutes into the match, Princeton University's goal looked a bit too open when Christer Misje came free, but Kent Stølen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Jøssund FF's Christer Misje in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After the first half Princeton University were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Storm Bergmann was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute of the match Arne Christoffersen shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kent Stølen showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Princeton University's Storm Bergmann slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Leon Aandal. That made the score 0-3 after 60 minutes of play. 65 minutes into the match, Jøssund FF's goal looked a bit too open when Storm Bergmann came free, but Leon Aandal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute Storm Bergmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leon Aandal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Frode Dyb charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Frode Dyb the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 76 played minutes Princeton University got a freekick which was hit by Frode Dyb. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Øyvind Aaland managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jøssund FF's supporters rose to their feet, but Øyvind Aaland was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kent Stølen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 81st minute, Frode Dyb hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Christer Misje had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute, Morten Næsheim ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jøssund FF's Christer Misje got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Princeton University players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
