Rustad IF's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Endre Haukaas came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Rustad IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Endre Haukaas couldn't finish the play. Stølsvigen's Ole Melbye proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Stølsvigen from getting a goal against them. Jon-Egil Solum recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Kim Stav had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kim Stav sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 33 played minutes Stølsvigen got a freekick which was hit by Tor Winger. 38 minutes into the match, Stølsvigen's goal looked a bit too open when Endre Haukaas came free, but Ole Melbye reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Endre Haukaas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Filip Mikkelborg during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience was convinced that Endre Haukaas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ole Melbye was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. Kim Stavs short, quick shot in the 45thth minute got Ole Melbye to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Kim Stav struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Ole Melbye didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rustad IF.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Endre Haukaas to make the kick off. In the 66th minute, Kim Stav got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rustad IF were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
