Morten Bjelland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Preben Klepp who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 5thth minute tested the skills of Tim Erlandsen when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 7th minute, David Haram got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 9 played minutes CSFC got a freekick which was hit by Dag Mikalsen. When Team Botn's Preben Klepp, in the 10th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Team Botn. After 12 minutes, Kristen Værnes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Team Botn and the CSFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Felix Myrvang took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 13th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Kai-Arne Ulvestad. Team Botn's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ole-Gunnar Langø struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Kai-Arne Ulvestad didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CSFC. Stian Gjerdrum charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stian Gjerdrum the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 23 played minutes CSFC got a freekick which was hit by Stian Gjerdrum. 27 minutes into the game, Leif Rovik was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CSFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Team Botn the free kick. In the 27th match minute, CSFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leif Rovik to maneuver through the defense. David Haram recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. David Haram fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tim Erlandsen having to interfere. If Gunnar Skogly had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Preben Klepp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Tim Erlandsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 44 minutes had been played when some careless play by CSFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jarle Jonassen was slow to take the kick. During this time Team Botn's players had a chance to rest. After having played for 45 minutes, David Haram managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Team Botn's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Haram was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Team Botn's Preben Klepp got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Preben Klepp to make the kick off. Team Botn's attack was well implemented in the 57th minute, but when Preben Klepp was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Gunnar Skogly's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kai-Arne Ulvestad read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, Team Botn's goalkeeper Kai-Arne Ulvestad had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gunnar Skogly. After a defensive mix-up in CSFC's zone, David Haram stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tim Erlandsen came out of the goal and David Haram tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 96 minutes into the match, David Haram notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of CSFC's Tim Erlandsen. Tim Erlandsen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. There was no doubt that Team Botn were the better team. Team Botn's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
