The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 7th minute Egil Drivenes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Torgeir Espenes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arne Ek was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jøran Selle showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 12 minute of play. Andreas Ekeli could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Arne Ek made a huge save. If Krister Hoddevik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 20 played minutes Rosunda got a freekick which was hit by Anders Løvdal. After 21 played minutes Vinger FC got a freekick which was hit by Børge Holtan. Anders Løvdal charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anders Løvdal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 23 played minutes Rosunda got a freekick which was hit by Anders Løvdal. The supporters of Vinger FC booed when Rosunda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jo Schmidt didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Andreas Ekeli came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Vinger FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andreas Ekeli couldn't finish the play. If Andreas Ekeli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rosunda's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Jøran Selle 29 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. Torgeir Espenes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Krister Hoddevik in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 36th match minute, Vinger FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Børge Holtan to maneuver through the defense. Vinger FC's Jøran Selle got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Krister Hoddevik was the one to do the kick off. Andreas Ekeli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arne Ek having to interfere. Torgeir Espenes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Krister Hoddevik, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Rosunda's Krister Hoddevik got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 82nd minute Jøran Selle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arne Ek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 85 minutes into the game, Vinger FC's Andreas Ekeli nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arne Ek made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edvard Fiskum during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 94th minute, Rosunda's Krister Hoddevik dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-1.
