Spectators: 6955 (Terracing: 5200, Seating: 1745, VIP seats: 10) Grubben IF's Kim Hopland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Espen Odden in the 4th minute of play. Vestbygden's Espen Odden got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Espen Odden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Theodor Børstad during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Vestbygden made a substitution. Roger Larsen replaced Espen Odden. Roger Larsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Kim Hopland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roger Larsen in the 17th minute of play forced Grubben IF's goalkeeper Kim Hopland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Vestbygden's Roger Larsen in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Grubben IF's goalie prevented a goal. Kim Hopland stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Roger Larsen's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. 41 minutes into the game, Frank Mandelid was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vestbygden's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grubben IF the free kick. After 40 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Vestbygden! The goalkeeper, Lasse Nordengen, was totally fooled by Grubben IF's Arild Thorsrud, who 43 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Theodor Børstad kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After 46 played minutes, Vestbygden's Bjørnar Opdahl shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Kim Hopland came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Vestbygden reached it. Vestbygden's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Bjørnar Opdahl in the 49th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Roger Larsen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lasse Nordengen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gjermund Høines in the 54th minute of the match. 56 minutes into the game, Edvard Mydland cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Lasse Nordengen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Roger Larsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Kim Hopland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bjørnar Opdahl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Vestbygden getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Torjus Grande hit a great ball. Edvard Mydland struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Lasse Nordengen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grubben IF. Per Tjøstheim was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 73 minutes into the match. Grubben IF's Kristian Ottosen suffered a sore thigh after 80 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 86 played minutes Grubben IF got a freekick which was hit by Jack Eng. After having played for 91 minutes, Bjørnar Opdahl managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vestbygden's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bjørnar Opdahl was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Vestbygden getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Thomas Meling hit a great ball. 96 minutes into the match, Vestbygden's goal looked a bit too open when Gjermund Høines came free, but Lasse Nordengen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roger Larsen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Many of Vestbygden's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Vestbygden may have spent more time on the ball, but Grubben IF were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
