In the 12th minute Lars-Olav Alfredsen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Helge Moen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tom Gashi hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. When Gjengstö's Abraham Stang in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Cent Hanssen did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Helge Moen 35 minutes into the match. Gjengstö's Abraham Stang got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Abraham Stang received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Tom Lein tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Abraham Stang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Abraham Stang to strike the kick off in the second half. Sukkertoppen if's Tom Lein proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Sukkertoppen if from getting a goal against them. 54 minutes into the game, John-Einar Lillejord was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sukkertoppen if's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gjengstö the free kick. After 54 played minutes Sukkertoppen if got a freekick which was hit by John-Einar Lillejord. A collision led to Sukkertoppen if getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. John-Einar Lillejord hit a great ball. In the 57th minute, Tom Gashi sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Sukkertoppen if's Tom Lein didn't even have to move. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abraham Stang in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tom Lein saved Sukkertoppen if from getting behind. 66 minutes into the match, Sukkertoppen if's Cent Hanssen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Helge Moen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dag Bjørkås kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Håvard Løvlie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tom Lein having to interfere. Helge Moen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cent Hanssen in the 75th minute of play.
