The audience thought a goal was coming when Tage Johannessen got free with Jim-André Nyvoll in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Linnehats IF's Christian Ramstad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Børge Skar in the 20th minute of play. When Per-Kristian Høyland got free in front of the goal in the 21st minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Christian Ramstad was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Børge Skar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tage Johannessen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jim-André Nyvoll read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. Tage Johannessen in the 32ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bjarne Melby to strike the kick off in the second half. Christian Ramstad didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sundheim BK. Sundheim BK played a much better game than Linnehats IF and deserved their victory. The Linnehats IF players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
