Ulf-Hendrik Lura showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johannes Borgersen in the 12th minute of the match. When Jan-Kenneth Fjærli fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Værøy IL's protests and gave Jan-Kenneth Fjærli a yellow card for diving instead. After 14 played minutes Værøy IL got a freekick which was hit by Jan-Kenneth Fjærli. Åge Fagerheim, 15 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. A collision led to Værøy IL getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Jan-Kenneth Fjærli hit a great ball. Lars Langset hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Vegard Selle let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 21st minute shot 1-0 at rihgt post. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Joar Finnerud managed to get in a good position for a shot. Værøy IL's supporters rose to their feet, but Joar Finnerud was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ulf-Hendrik Lura breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jørgen Øygard blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Truls Ringheim having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Kristen Smith managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cicignon Fotballklubb's supporters rose to their feet, but Kristen Smith was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Truls Ringheim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Tim Solsvik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 48 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Joar Finnerud sped through Cicignon Fotballklubb's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ulf-Hendrik Lura. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jørgen Øygard was the one to do the kick off. Ulf-Hendrik Lura stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tim Solsvik's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. If Vegard Selle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 58 minutes into the match, Værøy IL's goal looked a bit too open when Vegard Selle came free, but Truls Ringheim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jan-Kenneth Fjærli scored 1-2 in the 63rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ulf-Hendrik Lura, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Værøy IL's Tim Solsvik got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Jørgen Øygard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joar Finnerud fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulf-Hendrik Lura having to interfere. A collision led to Cicignon Fotballklubb getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Theodor Bakkelund hit a great ball. Johannes Borgersen kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Tim Solsvik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ulf-Hendrik Lura made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joar Finnerud in the 88th minute. Cicignon Fotballklubb were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
