Kim-André Michelsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Endre Bjune in the 17th minute of play. After 17 played minutes U21 got a freekick which was hit by Kjetil-André Nygård. U21's Kim-André Michelsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Torvald Persson in the 19th minute of play. After having played for 23 minutes, Endre Bjune managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. TeamName's supporters crossed their fingers, but Endre Bjune was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Torvald Persson came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the TeamName fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Torvald Persson couldn't finish the play. After 29 played minutes U21 got a freekick which was hit by Peter Koch. The supporters of TeamName booed when U21 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kjetil-André Nygård didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 31st minute, Joar Raastad sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and U21's Kim-André Michelsen didn't even have to move. When Endre Bjune came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the TeamName fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Endre Bjune couldn't finish the play. In the 34th minute, Olof Rui hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Theodor Stavenes in the 38th minute of play forced TeamName's goalkeeper Christian Gjestad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute, Børge Hol hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was a well-played corner which Olof Rui managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Theodor Stavenes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Gjestad having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Theodor Stavenes made a kick off. Christian Gjestad showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Sandli in the 53rd minute of the match. U21 were awarded a corner in the 55th minute after TeamName's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Geir Sparby took the corner. 62 minutes into the game, Endre Bjune lined in a short shot 0-1 behind a frustrated Kim-André Michelsen. After having played for 75 minutes, Endre Bjune managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Christian Gjestad was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
