The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Are Bjerkli stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 56 played minutes CSKA got a freekick which was hit by Lars-Erik Grøtan. Jørund Lystad made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Runar Bertheussen sent off a good shot on target. CSKA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Are Bjerkli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thomas Skjold prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in CSKA's zone, Steinar Nome stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jørund Lystad came out of the goal and Steinar Nome tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of CSKA booed when Skillemo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oddbjørn Nordstrand didn't get a good kick on the ball. CSKA's Jørund Lystad proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save CSKA from getting a goal against them.
