Spectators: 6735 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1735, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Erik Heggernes kicked off to start the match. Ståle Barstad showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gjermund Buvarp in the 7th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Selbekken's Kristian Meisingset got a free kick in the 9th minute. The Karnes IL fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Arvid Lindstrøm sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gjermund Buvarp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erik Heggernes charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Erik Heggernes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Karnes IL booed when Selbekken was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erik Heggernes didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Karnes IL's Erland Aurstad in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Selbekken's goalie prevented a goal. When Arvid Lindstrøm came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Karnes IL fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arvid Lindstrøm couldn't finish the play. 38 minutes into the match, Paul Aleksandersen notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Karnes IL's Andreas Høyvik. Andreas Høyvik was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Erland Aurstad stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 59 played minutes Selbekken got a freekick which was hit by Kristian Meisingset. Johannes Urke kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. If Erland Aurstad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd match minute, Karnes IL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tor-Andre Ottem to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Selbekken's Ståle Barstad got control of the ball when Erland Aurstad tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Gjermund Buvarp came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Karnes IL fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gjermund Buvarp couldn't finish the play. In the 82nd minute, Jørn Abrahamsen fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 84th minute Paul Aleksandersen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andreas Høyvik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 89 minutes into the match, Karnes IL's Erland Aurstad sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ståle Barstad narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gjermund Buvarp recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Finn Tjelta kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. Karnes IL's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Selbekken had won, even though Karnes IL had held more of the ball.
