Spectators: 7255 (Terracing: 5630, Seating: 1575, VIP seats: 50) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Helge Lein kicked off to start the match. Varna's Fridtjof Øvrum played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Odin Trønnes in the 3rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Varna's zone, Kenneth Hegre stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fridtjof Øvrum came out of the goal and Kenneth Hegre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gard Neverdal charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gard Neverdal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Fridtjof Øvrum showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Odin Trønnes, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Fridtjof Øvrum took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Odin Trønnes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kenneth Hegre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fridtjof Øvrum having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kenneth Hegre in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fridtjof Øvrum saved Varna from getting behind.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Odin Trønnes to strike the kick off in the second half. Kenneth Hegre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fridtjof Øvrum having to interfere. Varna's defense didn't have a chance, in the 57th minute, when Odin Trønnes scored to the left of an out of position Fridtjof Øvrum, making the score, 1-2. If Helge Lein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 76 minutes of play, Varna's Aksel Bjørkås made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arild Kvalsvik was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Kenneth Hegre got free with Fridtjof Øvrum in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 81 minutes into the game, Kenneth Hegre recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Fridtjof Øvrum. Kenneth Hegre showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Odin Trønnes in the 84th minute of play forced Varna's goalkeeper Fridtjof Øvrum to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute Taco Gjengen were awarded a corner. Tor-Arne Sigvartsen went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Taco Gjengen's Tor-Arne Sigvartsen to fire away a dangerous shot which Fridtjof Øvrum despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 93rd match minute, Varna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kai-Arne Mydland to maneuver through the defense. Taco Gjengen's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
