The audience was convinced that Hans Braut's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ragnar Guldbrandsen was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. In the 16th minute, Hans Braut left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Barøy BK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Gaute Valstad struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Ragnar Guldbrandsen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barøy BK. If Petter Brastad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ragnar Guldbrandsen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hans Braut went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After 30 played minutes Manchester United got a freekick which was hit by Petter Brastad. In the 33rdth minute of the game Hans Braut who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Manchester United's Ragnar Guldbrandsen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 35 minutes, Hans Braut managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barøy BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hans Braut was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gaute Valstad recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hans Braut scored 0-3 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ragnar Guldbrandsen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gaute Valstad to make the kick off. Petter Brastad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 58th minute, Trond Levang hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Hans Braut came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Barøy BK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hans Braut couldn't finish the play. In the 65th minute of the match, Hans Braut got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ragnar Guldbrandsen was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When Trond Levang fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Manchester United's protests and gave Trond Levang a yellow card for diving instead. In the 71st minute of the match Tore-Andre Berg sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ragnar Guldbrandsen skillfully saved the ball. Ragnar Guldbrandsen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hans Braut in the 77th minute. Gaute Valstad received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ragnar Guldbrandsen came out and tried to block the shot, but Gaute Valstad slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 78th minute. 87 minutes into the match, Barøy BK's Hans Braut sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ragnar Guldbrandsen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Trond Levang got his second yellow card in the match during the 91st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Manchester United getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Trond Levang hit a great ball. Ragnar Guldbrandsen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hans Braut in the 94th minute. With his leg Ragnar Guldbrandsen managed to avoid a goal in the 95thth minute, when Barøy BK's Hans Braut fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.
