In the 3rd match minute, Guarani fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edvard Joa to maneuver through the defense. 4 minutes into the match, Tromsø IF's Gustav Lilleås sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bård Hveem narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustav Lilleås got free with Bård Hveem in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Øyvind Jama's late challenge caught a Tromsø IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Øyvind Jama helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Guarani fc getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Øyvind Jama hit a great ball. Guarani fc's defense didn't have a chance, in the 11th minute, when André Hojem scored to the left of an out of position Bård Hveem, making the score, 1-0. After 19 played minutes Guarani fc got a freekick which was hit by Carl Carlson. In the 22nd minute, Gustav Lilleås hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gustav Lilleås could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Bård Hveem made a huge save. Wit Kiewra hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Gustav Lilleås's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bård Hveem was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. In the 30th minute Remi Heltne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Asbjørn Tøsse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tromsø IF were furious when Jakob Thorsrud was red carded, 32 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Bård Hveem made an important save on a dangerous shot by Audun Moseng in the 37th minute. Sebastian Garvik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tromsø IF's Asbjørn Tøsse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Garvik in the 41st minute of play. Sebastian Garvik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Asbjørn Tøsse having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Garry Rodriguez made the kick off in the second half. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tage Koppang couldn't finish the play. In the 68th minute Nils-Johan Robberstad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Asbjørn Tøsse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, Tromsø IF's goalkeeper Asbjørn Tøsse had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nils-Johan Robberstad. Bård Hveem showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kristian Nyvoll, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Tage Koppang kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Nils-Johan Robberstad might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Asbjørn Tøsse. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nils-Johan Robberstad ran back to his position shaking his head. Garry Rodriguez scored 2-1 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bård Hveem, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Guarani fc's Tage Koppang got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Tromsø IF's Asbjørn Tøsse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nils-Johan Robberstad in the 96th minute of play. Tromsø IF's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
